A Thousand Foot View - The Last 2 Years

I have been so blessed this last year to have made so many connections and opportunities with Prevail Armament over the last two years.

I have been asked to assist with instruction at 3 companies serving law enforcement, military and civilian clients.

3 podcasts were kind enough to have me on as a guest and asked to participate in others (stay tuned).

One company invited me to fill in as a guest speaker for their live forums.

We have been hosting an exclusive weekly class for men to develop in fitness and learn hand to hand combat.

We also have provided local medical emergency training, home safety education, self defense proficiency, and wilderness survival events.

On two occasions, we have been asked to provide security consultations to circumstances with a high risk concern.

We have consulted and provided support for one case against human trafficking. We are currently in contact with other groups about becoming much more involved in this effort on a broader scale (stay tuned).

As a direct result of these trainings we have been able to motivate and facilitate two individuals starting the process of joining local volunteer fire departments, one in joining local search and rescue teams and to enable another trainee in his proficiency requirements as he pursues a career in law enforcement.

Myself, I have been able to complete Firefighter 1 (interior and exterior) and join as a member at our small local fire department.

While these are great examples of the results at hand, I can't go without acknowledging the men who have simply been challenged to become better husbands, dads, church members, community servants and have carried on that motivation to train regularly.

My trainees have so far responded to three medical emergencies in a civilian capacity that they happened to be in the vicinity of. One of my trainees revamped his companies facility emergency response plan and equipment to better reflect the possible injuries and needs of his coworkers. Many of my students have taken up the mantle of carrying their own Individual trauma kits at their industrial jobs when they found the provided medical to be lacking. They have responded to and helped search for a local missing person.

I'll stop ranting now, but I get the feeling that people assume we just like to plink at pop cans and oogle over fancy toys. When really, we should probably spend more time doing that, this other stuff can be exhausting!

Last but not least thank you to everyone who has provided support and helped to facilitate this work - you know who you are.

I'm not a social media guru, so I apologize for not being great at sharing these happenings.

Some big changes are coming, and I pray that through those changes, God can better utilize this pursuit to protect the weak, equip the strong, heal the hurt, and free the enslaved. Carry the Torch!
