Having an everyday carry flashlight allows for you to utilize your other gear the other 50% of the time that it is dark out. I personally have been carrying a flashlight regularly since I worked college security and I realized how beneficial it was to have. And once you have a quality flashlight, you will never be content having a cheap unreliable one again. I selected the Protac 2L-X because I have been using this light for almost a year and have been very happy with it - a reliable product from a reputable company that gets the job done. I especially like the clip that allows for this light to attach to a hat brim which was a feature my main EDC light was lacking. The only thing that I could consider a con for this light is its country of manufacturing - China. The company is American-owned and even produces many of their product lines in the States, but this product did get outsourced. If you purchase this product, you know you are getting a solid product from a staple in the industry who really does deserve your hard earned money. The price might be surprising to some, but industry enthusiasts and professionals can tell you that Streamlight is considered an affordable entry level to duty-quality lights.
